Hypnotherapy can help you change your subconscious resistance and redirect your mind toward the goals you wish to obtain. It can help you embrace accountability for meaningful change.

Resistance is an unconscious psychological response. It originates in the amygdala, the part of the brain associated with fear, emotions and motivation.

We can develop different responses to fear and reactive mechanisms that help alleviate and control feelings of anxiety. The fight-flight-freeze reaction is your body’s natural response to a threat. It happens through hormonal and physiological changes that allow you to act so you can protect yourself. Defence mechanisms are strategies used to decrease stress and avoid inner conflict. They protect you from upsetting situations and help to keep you safe and happy. The problem arises when this resistance develops into unhealthy or maladaptive behaviours that prevent us from engaging in ways that will be helpful, such as actively participating in therapy.

Hypnotherapy can help you move through a change process and develop confidence in your ability to cope with change.
